STAGE 1 PACKAGE DETAILS
Experiencing Stock to Stage 1 power for the first time always puts a smile on the customers face, finally the car is tuned to its true potential and feels like it should. Our Stage 1 Audi tuning package for the Audi RS3 8Y2 Facelift 2.5L TFSI truly delivers impressive power gains, boosting power output by 15% and torque by as much as 25% over stock, or with an Intake: Boosting power output by 15-20% and torque by as much as 25-30% over stock
Stage 1 tuning of a car refers to a set of modifications that enhance the vehicle’s performance, typically without requiring significant changes to its internal components or a lot of downtime. It gains a noticeable increase in power and driving experience without going overboard with complex upgrades.
Here’s a breakdown of what the MRC Stage 1 Package for the Audi RS3 8Y2 includes:
- In-house developed MRC ECU Stage 1 Remap
The most common part of Stage 1 tuning is adjusting the car’s Engine Control Unit (ECU), which governs the performance parameter settings like air-fuel mixture, ignition timing, and boost levels. This Stage 1 remap is the culmination of months of dedicated work by our highly skilled engineers at MRC Tuning working on a bespoke tune that will optimize these settings to increase power output, torque, and fuel efficiency without requiring any mechanical changes. This is the most cost-effective and non-invasive method to improve performance whilst staying extremely safe but producing the most driveable and powerful tune on the market.
- Dyno testing and tweaks
Your car will be tuned on our in-house dynojet rolling road, we will log many variables in the ECU so less power runs are needed while we run the car to make sure engine values and levels are within spec. Only once we are happy will we increase the map values to unleash the extra power.
Doing this means your map is a bespoke custom tune, tailored to your specific car that runs as efficiently as we can make it.
Booking information
-
- We would require a deposit of £150 to secure your booking and the car for 2 weeks due to the ECU unlock process.

STAGE 1 GAINS : +40-60PS +80-130nm
You should see around 440-460ps / 580-630nm (Limited by GPF)
TCU Options : The TCU on these cars is currently locked we can either:
- Patch the TCU via the ECU to work with the additional power of the Stages.
- Upgrade the TCU Mechatronic unit with an unlocked unit that we can Map please enquire for quote.
Stage 1 + Intake as above but also includes:
- Upgraded Air filter
Upgrading to a high-flow air filter or a performance intake system helps the engine get more air, leading to better combustion and more power.
A better intake allows the engine to breathe more freely, improving throttle response and overall performance.
- Upgraded Inlet pipes
Upgrading the inlet pipes helps with better airflow, more power, faster turbo response, and will improve the overall efficiency and longevity of the turbo system for future stages of tune and ultimately increasing horsepower and torque.

STAGE 2 PACKAGE DETAILS
Stage 2 tuning of a car refers to hardware adjustments like upgraded or larger intercoolers, downpipes, or intake/exhaust modifications. This package will give the 8y2 facelift a raised power output by up to 35% but also the torque figures will increase by up to 30-35% over stock (Limited by TCU).
Here’s a breakdown of what the MRC Stage 2 Package for the Audi RS3 8Y2 includes:
- In-house developed MRC ECU Stage 2 Remap
Building on the Stage 1 tuning package of the ECU this Stage 2 remap will take advantage of the extra hardware upgrades with a more bespoke tune that will optimize the power output and torque whilst staying extremely safe. This map takes into consideration the upgrades and will increase power and torque with the newly available headroom.
- Dyno testing and tweaks
Your car will be tuned on our in-house dynojet rolling road, we will log many variables in the ECU so less power runs are needed while we run the car to make sure engine values and levels are within spec. Only once we are happy will we increase the map values to unleash the extra power.
Doing this means your map is a bespoke custom tune, tailored to your specific car / hardware and engine that runs as efficiently as we can make it.
- Upgraded Intercooler
Fitting a larger and more efficient intercooler helps maintain lower intake temperatures, preventing heat-induced power loss and ensuring consistent performance.
- Downpipe
Fitting upgraded downpipes provide greater increases in horsepower and torque on turbocharged vehicles by allowing exhaust gasses to flow easier as they leave the turbo.
Booking information
-
- For Stage 2 first time – We would require a non refundable deposit of £1,500 to secure parts and booking, and for the car to be left with us for 2 weeks to carry out the work.

STAGE 3 PACKAGE DETAILS
Stage 3 tuning of a car usually refers to upgrading the turbochargers plus additional Stage 2 hardware adjustments like upgraded or larger intercoolers, downpipes, or intake/exhaust modifications. This package will give usually boost power output by up to 50% but also the torque figures will increase by up to 40-50% over stock (Limited by TCU).
At Stage 3 we would always advise having a Multimap due to the extra power, and if you cannot use the highest quality Tesco 99 Fuel.
Here’s a breakdown of what the MRC Stage 3 Package for the Audi RS3 8Y2 includes:
- In-house developed MRC ECU Stage 3 Remap
Stage 3 is at your own risk. We will map the car to be as safe and powerful as it can be but increasing the power and torque so far beyond the factory specification means it will need appropriately reduced service intervals and maintenance.
We would require a £5,000 deposit to secure parts and booking and for the car to be left with us for 2 weeks to carry out the work.
There are some turbo options for this car but we have good experience tuning the Hybrid TTE700 and TTE850
- Upgraded Turbocharger
Many Stage 3 turbos are “hybrid” units, reusing stock housings with upgraded internals (larger, more robust compressor and turbine wheels and hotsides) to increase flow.
Another option is a full frame turbo from companies like Garrett or Precision which have much larger internals as not constrained by stock housings. These are not “bolt-on” usually and require much more fabrication time and work to fit, and we generally fit these when you want to go for much higher power levels and we usually get engines built professionally for this application.
- Upgraded Air filter
Must have at Stage 3 – Upgrading to a high-flow air filter or a performance intake system helps the engine get more air, leading to better combustion and more power. A better intake allows the engine to breathe more freely, improving throttle response and overall performance.
- Upgraded Inlet pipes
Larger inlet pipes help with better airflow, more power, faster turbo response, and will improve the overall efficiency and longevity of the turbo system for future stages of tune and ultimately increasing horsepower and torque.
- Upgraded Intercooler
Fitting a larger and more efficient intercooler helps maintain lower intake temperatures, preventing heat-induced power loss and ensuring consistent performance – we require this at Stage 3.
- Downpipe
Fitting upgraded downpipes provide greater increases in horsepower and torque on turbocharged vehicles by allowing exhaust gasses to flow easier as they leave the turbo, there are choices but we would recommend a Sports Cat if your car is road legal, we can multimap to suit whatever option you go for.
