The RS4 and RS5 are powered by a 2.9 TFSI V6 twin-turbo engine making the same power as the previous model (B8) while making more torque (extra 170 Nm) from a smaller displacement engine, resulting in better fuel efficiency and acceleration.

The RS4 and RS5 B9 could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.9 seconds, and achieve a maximum speed of 280 km/h (174 mph)

RS 4 Avant and RS5 are available with an 8-speed ‘Tiptronic’ automatic transmission, further developments include a new chassis featuring a five-link front and rear suspension coupled to Audi Sport’s Dynamic Ride Control system offering variable damping control. Other options included with a carbon-fibre engine cover and ceramic front brakes.

STAGE 1 PACKAGE DETAILS:

Multimaps are available for this platform – Experiencing Stock to Stage 1 power for the first time always puts a smile on the customers face, finally the car is tuned to its true potential and feels like it should. Our Stage 1 Audi tuning package for the Audi RS4 / RS5 B9 2.9L V6 TFSI (DECA) truly delivers impressive power gains, boosting power output as much as 15% over stock and torque by up to 30%.

Stage 1 tuning of a car refers to a set of modifications that enhance the vehicle’s performance, typically without requiring significant changes to its internal components or a lot of downtime. It gains a noticeable increase in power and driving experience without going overboard with complex upgrades.

Here’s a breakdown of what the MRC Stage 1 Package for the Audi RS4 / RS5 B9 2.9L V6 TFSI (DECA) includes:

  • In-house developed MRC ECU Stage 1 Remap

The most common part of Stage 1 tuning is adjusting the car’s Engine Control Unit (ECU), which governs the performance parameter settings like air-fuel mixture, ignition timing, and boost levels. This Stage 1 remap is the culmination of months of dedicated work by our highly skilled engineers at MRC Tuning working on a bespoke tune that will optimize these settings to increase power output, torque, and fuel efficiency without requiring any mechanical changes. This is the most cost-effective and non-invasive method to improve performance whilst staying extremely safe but usually producing more power and torque than our competitors whilst maintaining a safe tune.

  • Gearbox Tune

Tuning a Transmission Control Unit (TCU) refers to modifying the software that controls the automatic transmission in a vehicle. The TCU is responsible for shifting gears, controlling torque delivery, and optimizing the performance of the transmission. Just like with engine tuning (ECU), TCU tuning can enhance driving dynamics, performance, and efficiency. We start with the Audi Performance Gearbox map – in our opinion the ultimate starting point for driveability, and then we increase torque limits and shiftpoints to cope with the increased power and torque.

  • Upgraded Air filter

Upgrading to a high-flow air filter or a performance intake system helps the engine get more air, leading to better combustion and more power.
A better intake allows the engine to breathe more freely, improving throttle response and overall performance.

Booking information

    • We would require a non refundable deposit of £150 to secure your booking, and would require the car to be with us for a couple of hours to carry out the work.

STAGE 2 PACKAGE DETAILS:

Stage 2 tuning of a car refers to hardware adjustments like upgraded or larger charge coolers, downpipes, or intake/exhaust modifications. Stage 1 to Stage 2 power will only usually boost power output by not only 25% but also the torque figures could increase by nearly 40% which is a noticeable improvement that you can feel.

Here’s a breakdown of what the MRC Stage 2 Package for the Audi RS4 / RS5 B9 2.9L V6 TFSI (DECA) includes:

  • In-house developed MRC ECU Stage 2 Remap

Building on the Stage 1 tuning package of the ECU this Stage 2 remap will take advantage of the extra hardware upgrades with a more bespoke tune that will optimize the power output and torque whilst staying extremely safe.

  • Upgraded Air filter

Upgrading to a high-flow air filter or a performance intake system helps the engine get more air, leading to better combustion and more power.
A better intake allows the engine to breathe more freely, improving throttle response and overall performance.

  • Exhaust downpipe modifications

Removal of secondary elements provide greater increases in horsepower and torque on turbocharged vehicles by allowing exhaust gasses to flow easier as they leave the turbo.

Optional upgrades

  • Optional Charge Cooler

The 2.9L V6 biturbo engine in these models is equipped with an advanced indirect charge air cooling circuit. Unlike conventional systems, the charge air cooling process is not realized by ambient air, but by a separate cooling water circuit. A reduction in the cooling water temperature therefore leads directly to an improved cooling performance of the charge air. This is where the advantages of the Wagner Tuning Upgrade water cooler come into their own – The newly developed competition racing core of the Wagner Tuning high-performance water cooler increases the radiator volume of the standard water cooler by an impressive 55%. The optimised ratio between the inner and outer cooling surface ensures maximum heat transfer and at the same time guarantees sufficient air flow for adjacent components such as the engine water cooler. In addition, the water coolers are equipped with a thermally conductive anti-corrosion coating that ensures a long-term cooling effect.

Upgrading the charge cooler for a larger unit in a turbocharged car enhances performance by improving its ability to reduce the temperature of compressed intake air, resulting in denser air with more oxygen entering the engine. This allows for more efficient combustion, enabling the engine to burn more fuel and generate greater power without increasing the risk of knock (pre-ignition).

A more efficient charge cooler also helps maintain consistent power during extended periods of boost or high ambient temperatures by preventing heat soak, ultimately improving throttle response, reliability, and overall engine efficiency.

  • Optional Full exhaust kit

The full exhaust will provide greater increases in horsepower and torque on turbocharged vehicles by allowing exhaust gasses to flow easier as they leave the turbo and the tune can be increased to take advantage of the extra breathing. The Milltek Sport system we fit has much better flowing middle and back boxes compared to the stock system therefore giving better performance, plus whatever your choice of box configuration the performance figures will be very similar just the noise level you require.

  • Optional High Pressure Fuel pump (HPFP)

Upgrading the HPFP in a turbocharged car ensures the engine receives sufficient fuel volume and pressure to match the increased air from the turbo, which is critical for maintaining the correct air-fuel ratio under boost. This allows for higher horsepower tuning, prevents lean conditions (which can cause engine knock or damage), and supports larger injectors and higher boost levels safely. In short, it enables the fuel system to keep up with the turbo’s demands, unlocking the car’s full performance potential.

  • Optional Intake

Aftermarket intakes often use larger diameter piping and smoother bends, to reduce airflow restriction, allowing the turbo to breathe more freely. Better airflow can help the turbo spool up quicker, improving throttle response, whilst improved airflow supports higher boost levels and more efficient combustion, leading to increased horsepower and torque when tuned correctly.
