The 4.2\u00a0L (4,163\u00a0cc)\u00a032v V8 engine<\/a> of the B7 RS 4 is based on the previous all-alloy 40v V8 from the B6 S4, and shares many parts, and Fuel Stratified Injection<\/a>, with the 4.2 FSI V8 engine in the\u00a0Q7<\/a>. The engine includes new cylinder block construction, and is a highly reworked, high-revving variant (redline at 8,000 rpm; rev limit of 8,250 rpm).<\/p>\n
